The Power & Responsibility of Sharing your Testimony!
Prime Example: Samaritan Woman at the Well (John 4:4–42)
FIVE Functions / Roles that anyone can do within the Church after Believing in Jesus as the Messiah:
To the King of Kings and the town she lived in, immediately without hesitation the new convert, “Worshipped, Served, Fellowshipped, Evangelized and Taught.”
This is a beautiful example of the power that the Holy Spirit provides; no formal training and the Samaritan woman directly flourished and began storing up treasures in Heaven by simply preaching the good news that Jesus of Nazareth is the Messiah.
Not even baptized in water yet, the nuclear evangelist received her born-again spiritual baptism and officially, for the first time, Jesus launches His first public proclamation that He is the Messiah.
To the Nation of Israel, this is the highest blasphemy that anyone can proclaim, that you are God, or equal to the God of Israel, YHVH.
Mark 14, to the Chief Priest, he finally allows the nail to the cross by affirming all three titles: Son of Man, Son of God, and Messiah.
Now, what is our responsibility in this?
There are many examples through scripture that the Bible tells us about our Born-again testimony’s need and blessings for sharing. Here are a few:
Luke 8:39 NASB ‘The Demoniac Cured’
39 “Return to your house and describe what great things God has done for you.” So, he went away, proclaiming throughout the whole city what great things Jesus had done for him.
2 Timothy 1:8-10 (CJB)
8 So don't be ashamed of bearing testimony to our Lord or to me, his prisoner. On the contrary, accept your share in suffering disgrace for the sake of the Good News. God will give you the strength for it,
9 since he delivered us and called us to a life of holiness as his people. It was not because of our deeds, but because of his own purpose and the grace which he gave to us who are united with the Messiah Yeshua. He did this before the beginning of time,
10 but made it public only now through the appearing of our Deliverer, the Messiah Yeshua, who abolished death and, through the Good News, revealed life and immortality.
Revelation 12:11 ESV
And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.
By sharing, the believer and Disciple of Christ keeps themselves fresh in their gratitude toward God the Father, Jesus, and the power of the Holy Spirit. It is through this gratefulness that humility and thankfulness of the before and after that allows others to hear and decide for faith in Jesus.
Are you sharing your testimony this week?
Pray that God anoints you and places people in your path for these opportunities.
GREAT victory for faith will come when we stay in this simple 1-2-3.
